About dog playpens
How big is the playpen?
As an octagon, the foldable model covers about 59" × 59". The heavy-duty 27" × 32" model covers 69.7" × 69.7", or 24.43 square feet of space for a dog to move around.
What animals is it for?
Puppies and small to medium dogs, plus rabbits, ducks, turtles and guinea pigs — any pet that does not climb. Large dogs need the tallest heavy-duty size.
Can it go outside?
Yes. Both dog playpens have a rust-preventive finish and come with ground stakes, so the outdoor enclosure stays put on grass.
Why a metal exercise pen?
Compared with plastic or soft mesh, a metal exercise pen is harder to chew or push over, so a dog stays safe and contained. It is still collapsible: open the panels to set it up, fold them to store it.
Do dog playpens come with a bottom?
Choose a kit with a floor pad and the bottom is included; the pad keeps indoors floors clean and protects paws outdoors. You can also add the PETIME floor pad to an existing 24" pen.
Which size for my dog?
Measure shoulder height and add at least 10 inches. Small dogs and puppies fit a 24" pen; medium dogs a 30"–32" pen; large dogs and jumpers the 36" or 40" models.
